Here's Our Story
My journey began in an orphanage in Haiti, where a single act of compassion saved my life...
Pictured here is my adoptive American family. From left to right, you can see my adopted dad, Charlie George, my youngest biological sister, CeCe , myself (Watson George, but I go by my stage name "Watson Tunez"), and my adoptive mother, Dee George. My journey in the States began when I immigrated here at six years old.
Rescued with less than a month to live, it took an earthquake to teach me what that rescue was for. Let me back up and explain. My name is Watson George (but I go by my stage name "Watson Tunez") and I am the founder of Beyond Me Entertainment and a recording artist. I was orphaned on the Caribbean Island of Haiti as an infant, when my biological mother passed away and my father had already abandoned our family. With less than a month to live, a missionary found me and placed me in an orphanage. An American family adopted me, and I grew up in Washington State โ comfortable, and slowly forgetting the world I came from. Then an earthquake tore Haiti apart. More than 250,000 people lost their lives, and over a million more were displaced in a matter of weeks. Watching it unfold, I recognized the trauma of my own beginning, and I felt something I hadn't let myself feel in years: survivor's guilt, and a question I couldn't shake. Someone reached out to rescue me once. What was I doing to return the favor?
Haiti, my homeland, lies 700 miles south of Florida, bordering the Dominican Republic and positioned just across the sea from Cuba. Founded in 1803 following a historic, successful slave rebellion, the country has faced ongoing challenges with political instability, corruption, and natural disasters. The devastating earthquake in the capital of Port-au-Prince shattered lives and dreams in a nation that remains one of the economically poorest in the Western Hemisphere.

The one thing I was truly passionate about was music. Music, particularly Hip-hop, Pop, R&B and Rap had been my gateway to learning English and adapting to American culture. I wanted to use music to activate the humanitarian spirit of others and invite them on the journey of making a difference with me. I produced a beneficial album, gathered a group of young artists, and we toured โ concerts, merch, meeting new people and traveling to new places allowed me to share my story, everywhere we went. We raised over $50,000 in three months and I carried it home to help rebuild communities in Haiti. I partnered with the same missionary, who had rescued me to build a school in my community that is still operating successfully to this very day. But I learned something on that trip: passion without a system doesn't last long. That relief effort became the spark for Beyond Me Entertainment, and for the community you're standing in front of right now โ Live Beyond You.
Performing with my Impact Band on our Impact Tour in Indianapolis is me doing exactly what I love. I write songs to deliver hope, bring healing, and awaken the inner humanitarian in all of us so we can make a difference locally. My goal is to create music that moves your heart, feet, and soulโinspiring you to unleash your unique creativity and join the movement.
